Great River Road Rally 2006

Saturday morning sunrise. A clear, but chilly morning. Early risers found plenty of hot coffee in the pavillion.
Many ways to get here. A nice old beemer and side car.
Great campsite! Tucked away in a far corner next to the pond.

Out of way campsite, next to Kickapoo River levee.
These folks found a great camping spot right next to the Kickapoo River on the FAR side of the levee. I bet most people didn't even know they were there.
Campsites by the pond. They even had a view of the typical red Wisconsin barn.

A bit of history. Rally site is located in a park that used to be the old downtown area of Soldiers Grove. After repeated floodings, the entire downtown area was moved to higher ground in the 1980's. Most of the relocated businesses use solar panels, making it one of the first solar villages in the country.
