The Madison BMW Club was founded in 1968 as the 'Madison BMW and Touring Club', an organization of riders who wanted to see Wisconsin from the saddles of BMW and other shaft-driven motorcycles (a rarity in those days). In the early 1970's, it was reorganized as the Madison BMW Club Ltd., receiving charter #7 from the then-new BMW Motorcycle Owners of America (BMW MOA). The Club is also chartered with the BMW Riders Association International BMWRA (Charter #5).
Club activities include rides, Sunday morning breakfasts, an annual Club picnic, the annual Cherished But Insignificant Awards Banquet, and our annual rally: the Great River Road Run (GR3) in mid-May.
Our Fearless Leaders
There are lots of dedicated riders and volunteers in the Madison BMW Club. These are just a few who can answer your most important questions. We invite you to attend a club event. If you'd like a complimentary copy of the Club newsletter, The Mail Boxer, drop a line to our newsletter editor or check out the newsletter page. Take this opportunity to meet other BMW enthusiasts.
A man of many talents. Our Head Honcho leads club meetings and dedicates a lot of time to make sure we are all having fun!
He took over the reins from our long time president Dick Olson. Although very responsive, if you can't get ahold of him right away, he's probably out riding with his wife Rhonnie. 🙂
Linda does a great job of writing down all our ramblings into official meeting notes! 🙂
Jim manages this web site, with help from BMW MOA gurus Ted Moyer or Ray Tubbs
Dawn fills in whenever the Head Honcho is unavailable. She also makes the awards banquets a success along with every breakfast meeting for the Madison Club.
Tom handles all the ins and outs of producing our monthly newsletter! Contact him to add any events, articles, items for sale, etc.
Sam is back as Rally Chair again! It's the hardest job with the least amount of pay ($0 like the rest of us!). He's a great planner and I'm sure it will be a great rally!
Sue tracks and keeps us up to date on all things financial. You'll often find her at our monthly breakfasts taking dues or 50/50 money.
Bert has some destinations in mind for club members. Attend the meetings and see what he comes up with for the day!
Jim keeps track of us. If you have any questions about dues, etc.. drop him a line.
